Vintage Georges Briards 1950s Tole Hand Painted Metal Tray. Following Briard's discharge from the Army in 1947, he served General Patton’s staff as a Russian interpreter and moved to New York City. In New York City, Briard's first work of painting was with metal trays; they were quite successful. This was his first attempt to paint houseware. He would later dedicate his art to designing and painting all kinds of housewares. Tray's with his signature were Rare to come by. THis tray is signed on the right side middle.
